Oct 14 - Day 287: Chocolate Rocks

Last week I was in Chinatown with some of my blogging friends. One of the bloggers got very excited seeing chocolate rocks in one of the stores. She picked up some chocolate rocks and is planning on using them to decorate a cake. When I saw these in one of the stores in my neighborhood this evening, I clicked a picture to share it with my friend and now sharing it with you all.

Jun 13 - Day 164: Bouquet of Candy Roses

Bouquet of candy roses at F.A.O Schwarz. This a famous toy store and a tourist attraction in NYC. The store is closing next month on July 15th. My cousin was in town and we took her 4 year old to the store before it closes it's doors for good.

Dec 7 ~ Day 341 - Goldsmith's workshop

I wanted to exchange a pair of old bangles for new ones. The jewelry did an instant purity test on the bangles and concluded that the bangles contained only 75% pure gold. I refused to exchange the bangles. He suggested we get the gold tested with the goldsmith next door. We got small piece of the bangle tested and it was almost 84% pure. The lesson learned was, although the jewelers say the ornament is 22k, 92% pure, most of the them use only 85% gold.

I went jewelry shopping with my cousin and she liked these beads. Unfortunately, the storekeeper refused to sell the beads separately. He insisted we buy the pendant too. My cousin managed to talking him into selling her only the beads, without the pendant.

This time I had a long shopping list to shop at the duty free stores. Unfortunately my flight arrived late in Dubai and I did not have much time to shop around. I picked up this tiny bag of duty free goods during my transit in Dubai.

Jun 24 ~ Day 175 - Only in NYC!

We went to a movie in the evening and as we were walking back home from the theater, today's photo was on the back of my mind. I had not taken any pictures yet and was looking around for a subject. There was nothing interesting to shoot. Then this board caught my eye. I walk by this store almost everyday. I started taking pictures of this boarded. U wondered what I was clicking as there was nothing there. Well, this was what I clicked!

Downtown Atlantic City has few outlet stores. While the guys lost their money in the casino, I spent mine in in the outlet stores! I rather spend it on myself than lose it all in the casino!
