May 28 ~ Day 148 - Baggage tag

It was an adventures flight to Houston! I almost missed my flight despite getting to the airport early. My bag was taken away after boarding the flight saying it was too big to fit in the overhead cabin, even though it was very small. I was first told the bag might not be on the plane which made me almost cry. What was going to wear for the party the next day?? Later, I was told there is a 99% chance that the bag was on the plane. At the end of the night, all was well, I made it to Houston and so did my bag!

Downtown Atlantic City has few outlet stores. While the guys lost their money in the casino, I spent mine in in the outlet stores! I rather spend it on myself than lose it all in the casino!

Whenever we go to Atlantic City, we always stay at Borgata and dine at NOW, Noodles of the World. One item I love on their menu is Bacon Rolls and it is a must, each time we dine their.

Went for late night grocery shopping Thursday night. I went to pick up some milk and since I was at the store anyway, bought some milk, spinach and mushrooms.

I opened my window shades this evening to see if I can get a picture for the day. The sky was clear and saw a plane passing by. I immediately powered my camera and zoomed it, just in time to click this picture before the plane flew over the building.

May 9 ~ Day 129 - Evening in the park

Location: Central Park
The park is so serene in the evening, good place to read a book, do some soul searching, to have some "me time" and enjoy the nature!

My camera is been acting weird lately. This evening, while I was taking pictures in the park, it started making this weird squeaky noise. It did no such thing in the afternoon, when I took some pictures for MySpicyKitchen. It did the same thing few days ago. I think it is high time I upgrade my camera and time to start looking for DSRL, before this camera breaks down on me.

May 8 ~ Day 128 - Greenery

I went for a 1 hour walk in the park this evening. Last time I was in the park, about 3 weeks ago, cherry blossoms were in full bloom and most of the trees were just beginning to grow back the leaves. Three weeks later, there is greenery every where!

May 7 ~ Day 127 - Racing day!

Location: Belmont Park
I gave Mr.U company at Belmont Park. First Saturday of May is Kentucky Derby which is broadcasted live on TV.  The race is run in Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky.  We went to Belmont race track to watch the simulcast and watch some live racing at Belmont Park.  I got a little bored as I am not interested in horse racing.  I should have taken my IPad to entertain myself.  I did bet $20 on Derby race, $15 on another race in Churchill Downs and no luck in both the races. :(

Kentucky Derby is one of the biggest races in horse racing and the first in the triple crown races. Triple crown in horse racing is similar to grand slam in tennis. The second race of the Triple Crown is Preakness Steaks which is 2 weeks after Kentucky Derby, on 3rd Saturday in May in Baltimore. Third race is Belmont Steaks, 3 weeks from Preakness in Belmont Park, NY.   No horse has won a Triple Crown, all three races; Kentucky Derby, Preakness Steaks and the Belmont Steaks in a single year, since 1978.

This is today's picture of the day. All 12 Chinese zodiac signs are on display on 59th street, at the Pulitzer Fountain in front of The Plaza. I could not capture a good picture of all the 12 zodiac heads.

May 5 ~ Day 125 - Watched the wedding live!

I can't believed I sat put and watched NTR JR's wedding live, for 40-50 minutes up to the muhurat at 5:10pm EST/2:40 am IST! Live coverage started around 10:30 am but I did not waste my time watching it all day.
