Aug 30 - Bride and groom paitning on pots

I was in Karimnagar to attend couple of ceremonies and stayed at my aunt's place. She got these pots painted for one of her children's marriage. There is a ritual before and after marriage, which is performed in front of the pots. In olden days, people just used clay pots but nowadays everyone has become so creative and are getting the pots painted to make them look attractive. There was another set of pots in her house that she got it decorated for her another child's marraige but I liked these a lot! Aren't these beautiful?

First couple of weeks, I was busy traveling attending wedding ceremonies and also unexpected tragic events in the family and did not get a chance to do much shopping. I shopped all day!

Aug 20 - Visit to an intensive care unit

Visited a family member in the intensive care unit and had to wear plastic/disposable socks before going into the unit.  Interesting part was, the security guard asked us to put on  the socks with my sandals on!

Since I took this picture after midnight, I guess it is okey to post this picture. During my layover in Mumbai, I also got a foot massage done at the Spa in the airport.

Aug 16 - Surprised!

I have not traveled in Air India and also via Mumbai in last five years.  This time I had almost 4 hours layover in Mumbai for my connecting flight to Hyderabad. I was surprised to see so many branded stores in Mumbai airport!

Aug 9 - Photo session on a busy NYC street! Should I post it or not?

Today as I was crossing the street on 34th street towards Macy's, I spotted a couple, bride and a groom on the middle of the cross walk kissing/pretending to kiss for a photo. As soon as I saw them, this blog came to my mind. I didn't feel right to take a picture of the couple with out their permission and walked away. I walked a few steps forward and noticed that people around me were looking at the spectacle and some of them even reached to their camera. Then I thought, why not me? By the time I pulled out my camera, the couple were done with their photo shoot and were walking away. Even better I thought, all I have now is their backs!

As I was composing this draft, U read it and asked me not to post it as I don't have their permission.  What do you think?  Should I keep the picture or remove it?  Since I don't have their faces, is it ok to post the picture here?

To the couple in the picture, whoever you are,  please let me know if you want me to pull out this picture.

Last week I ordered couple of pairs of sandals. They did not have my size in stock and had to place an order. I liked fuchsia but wasn't sure how it would look on my feet.  So I ordered both fuchsia and brown.  I wanted to keep fuchsia and U liked brown.  Since I could not make up my mind, I took a picture to see which one is better on my feet.  I decided to go with brown, as it is a neutral color and would go with any color.

This ad goes around the building and was not sure what exactly they were advertising but found it interesting. Looking at the picture, looks like it is an advertisement asking people to use the subway? mmm.. not sure

Aug 3 - Aerial view of Newark from the aircraft

Got back home late this evening and this is the view of downtown Newark as we landed in Newark airport. The left side window had a beautiful view of Manhattan and I tried to take a picture but could not capture a clear picture as the girl sitting in the window seat had her head glued to the window.

On our way back to Memphis from the Smoky Mountains, we stopped at Nashville Ganesh Temple. I found this elephant carving/sculpture on the walls of the temple very beautiful!
