Feb 25 ~ Day 56 - Found a tree with leaves

This time of the year it is rare to find a tree with some leaves on it, may those be brown/orange leaves! I love the color of the leaves against the red building in the back ground. It rained all morning, most of the afternoon and was very windy in the evening when I took the picture.

I waited for 10 minutes to get a good shot but the seal would not turn my side.  I usually remove my gloves before clicking pictures as I don't have a proper grip over the camera.  I finally gave up as my hands froze in the cold and only ticket holders get to go to the other side of the pool.

This statue at the entrance of Journal Square Path station commemorates Mr. Robinson's first major league baseball game played in Jersey City, breaking the color barrier in professional baseball.

These days I am obsessed with color and looking forward to spring. This colorful building is Desigual's second location in the city which is to open early next month.

Feb 9 ~ Day 40 - Spring flowers on display!

Last 2-3 weeks the city was covered with snow and finally the piles of snow are disappearing. It was in mid 40s on Monday and most of the snow melted away.  The temperatures have dipped back to below freezing but after seeing white all round for almost three weeks, it is nice to see some color around.  These flowers are planted on Park Ave will be on display till May.  Another picture of these flowers is here.

Feb5~Day 36 - Perfect bake, straight out of the oven!

I pre-planned for tomorrow night’s super bowl dinner and baked this cake late this evening. It came out so good that I am afraid it might not make it to the dinner tomorrow night! Every 10-15 minutes I am going into the kitchen, slicing a thin piece and munching on it.
