June 29 - John Finley Walk

Took a stroll on the East River Esplanade.  This esplanade is by the FDR drive and from 81st street, it is over the FDR drive.  I have not walked beyond the 86th street mark.  Took this picture at the 81st street entrance.

Light house park on the northern tip of the Roosevelt Island. Since I normally don't walk up that far, I was awestruck by the view from the 81st street, above the FDR drive.

June 28 - Time to clean up the refrigerator

Finishing up crepe cake in the fridge. I have three more slices of chocolate raspberry cake to finish!

I was at my cousin's place for the weekend. She had a Satyanarayan Puja followed by dinner at her place. Dahi vada was one of the items on the menu and it was awesome!

June 24 - Our new IPad

Our new IPad arrived just before I took off for the weekend.  Did not get to use it yet!  It is a gift for us from our nephew.  Thanks V, for the gift!

June 23 - Finally fixed!

Second elevator in the building broke down over a month ago and it was finally fixed! Now both the elevators are working!

June 21 - Delaware Valley

We lived in Philadelphia for 5 years before moving to NY. Since we moved, I was in Phila for an over night couple of years ago.  This time I was there for 5 days and felt good to be back in the valley!  Took this picture from my cousin's apartment.

June 20 - Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds

American Falls from Cave of the Wind tour. This tour was lot more fun than the Maid of the mist boat ride. In this tour, we take the elevator to the bottom of the falls and climb up the stairs very close to the falls. The intensity and force of the water fall was such that at certain points it was very difficult climb the stairs. Nonetheless, very fun tour!

June 19 - Light show at Niagara Falls

Lights are focused on the American Falls from the Canadian side. Do you see the pink/red color water??? We were on the observation deck near the American falls and could not see the lights reflecting on the horse shoe falls. I am sure those falls very beautiful as well!

June 18 - Liberty Bell

Liberty Bell in Philadelphia and the building in the back is Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the constitution were debated and adopted.

I will be traveling for the next 10 days and may not be able to post a picture everyday.   However, I will take pictures everyday and will put it up on the blog, once I get back from Virginia.
